The film, shot on-location in New Hampshire, to premiere Saturday, November 8th
Boston, Mass., (November 1, 2014)—Dow Barlow Films and Bérubé Pictures are pleased to announce the acceptance of the ‘The Chain’ into the Somewhat North of Boston (S.N.O.B.) Film Festival. The Chain is an independent film based on an original story by Tobias Wolff, a creative writing professor at Stanford University and author of This Boy’s Life, Old School, and The Night in Question. The Chain was filmed on location in Concord and Penacook, Derry, Londonderry and Manchester, New Hampshire.
“I am so thrilled that the premiere of The Chain will be at the S.N.O.B Film Festival in New Hampshire,” said Noel Dow Barlow, who adapted the story and directed the film. “I came across The Chain when reading The Night in Question, and I immediately saw its potential as a film. I think it’s a great character study in how much a person can change by making just a few bad decisions,” Ms. Barlow said.
The S.N.O.B. Film Festival will be held Thursday, November 6, through Sunday, November 9, at Red River Theatres in Concord.
“We are honored to begin the film’s journey on the festival circuit in Concord, where we spent so much time shooting,” said Daniel Bérubé, producer and editor of the film. “Being a New Hampshire native myself, it was a joy to realize the film here. I want filmmakers to know that New Hampshire is accessible–there is a location for every type of story. The State is rich in history, the people are willing to help at every turn, and filmmakers can find just the environment they are looking for,” Mr. Bérubé said.
