Mark your calendars to join us: We are excited to announce that The Chain has been accepted into the Monadnock International Film Festival – MONiff in totally hip & cool downtown Keene, New Hampshire! The Chain will screen on Saturday, April 18th as part of “SHORTS PROGRAM TWO” at 4PM in the majestic Colonial Theater — right before MONiff’s Saturday red carpet, awards reception and party! Cast and crew will be present at the screening!
MONIFF is a fantastic festival based in Keene, NH—a really awesome college town in the western part of the state. It’s a beautiful & easy drive getting up there, and FUN FACT: the Robin Williams’ film Jumanji was shot in Keene!
The Chain (based on an original story by Tobias Wolff) is directed by Noël Dow Barlow and was filmed on location in New Hampshire – and this will be the first DCP (Digital Cinema Package) screening of the film (DCP created byRob Bessette at Finish Post).
The Chain will be screening at 4pm on Saturday April 18th in this fantastic venue called The Colonial–a beautiful 900-seat movie theater right along the town’s main street (95 Main St # 6, Keene, NH 03431). It will be screening in the block entitled “Shorts Program Two.” This theater is huge and really beautiful, and we would really like to have a strong showing! So please try and attend if you can!
Also…this year’s BEST SHORT FILM award is based on voting done by TEXT MESSAGE. So it would be awesome if people could come to support that voting as well!

ABOUT THE CHAIN
Brian Gold’s docile demeanor unravels into vengeance after a neighborhood dog attacks his young daughter while she’s sledding.
Brian Gold takes his young daughter, Anna, sledding for the first time — she glides down the hill in pure childish pleasure, slipping farther away from her father. All of a sudden, Brian sees an enormous wolf-like animal charge at her. He freezes in panic. The dog attacks. The police say Brian can’t press charges because the dog was on a (very long) chain leash. Brian’s brother-in-law, Tom Rourke, suggests he just kill the dog. Brian refuses, claiming he will be the first suspect. Rourke offers to do it himself. Unable to resist the chance for revenge, Brian accepts, unknowingly triggering a chain-reaction of events that lead to a tragic event and Brian’s own psychological unraveling.
