It’s All True: Student Documentary Showcase

Join us two-and-a-half hour showcase of student documentary shorts but current undergraduate and graduate students in the visual and media arts department at Emerson College. Two time Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Barbara Kopple will be in attendance.
Kopple has won two Academy Awards, the first in 1976 for “Harlan County, USA,” and the second in 1991 for “American Dream.” She has directed episodes of the television drama series “Homicide: Life on the Street” and “Oz,” winning a Directors Guild of America award for the former. Kopple also directed “A Conversation With Gregory Peck” and “Bearing Witness,” as well as documentaries on Mike Tyson and Woody Allen.
A director and producer of narrative films and documentaries, her most recent project is the documentary “Running from Crazy,” which examines the personal journey of writer, model and actress Mariel Hemingway, the granddaughter of Nobel Prize-winning author Ernest Hemingway, as she strives for a greater understanding of her complex family history.
There will be a reception in the Bright Family Screening Room lobby following the screening where we will announce the winner of our BOSCPUG It’s All True Filmmaker Audience Award Package ($2,600 value), featuring:

14th Annual Emerson College Film Festival

Don’t miss out on this Emerson tradition. Join alumni, parents, and current students for this annual film festival showcasing student work. Now an all day event with 18 works screening across three programs, the festival includes three film programs (2:00, 4:00, and 6:00 pm) followed by a reception (8:00 pm) in the Paramount Center.

The Bright Family 2K Screening Room
BOSCPUG is proud to work with Emerson Visual and Media Arts to offer an evening of production and post-production conversation in the intimate and state of the art Bright Family 2K Screening Room at The Paramount Center at Emerson College.
Named for the family of Kevin Bright ’76, the Bright Family Screening Room seats approximately 200 people. It features the latest film and 2K digital video projection including 35mm. The dramatic double-height Gallery and Lobby connects to the Paramount Mainstage.

Note this parking is not vaildated!
