To create composites in Adobe Photoshop© is to be able to create worlds limited only by one’s imagination. The art of combining multiple images into a cohesive art piece is complex and fascinating. Join award winning digital artist Ella Putney Carlson for a three hour workshop full of tips and techniques for making great composites using Photoshop. From concept to completion, Ella will touch on the elements of successful compositing including selections, lighting, color and texture as well as sharing many of her favorite techniques and shortcuts to make your workflow faster!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Ella Putney Carlson has been teaching introductory and advanced Photoshop at the University of Massachusetts since 1999. In addition, she’s been aspeaker and judge for many professional photography organizations, as well as workshop instructor.
Ella has a Master of Fine Arts degree from New Hampshire Institute of Art and has earned professional photography degrees including Master Photographer, Master Artist, Certified Professional Photographer and ASP Educational Associate. Ella’s fine art composites and photography have won multiple Kodak Gallery Awards and Fuji Masterpiece Awards as well as highest level awards in international competition each of the last three years.
Ella serves on the board of the Professional Photographers Association of New England and the board of trustees for the New Hampshire Institute of Art. Her art has been exhibited widely including the Danforth Museum, Vermont Center for Photography, and DeCordova Museum. Her work has been published in several books as well as the Professional Photographers of America Loan Book, the Showcase Book, and Professional Photographer Magazine, and her new book, “Fine Art Photoshop: Diving Into the World of Photographic Art” – published in May of this year.

– Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Minimum age requirement is 15 years old (must be accompanied by parent/guardian). Students and Faculty must show proof of ID.
– What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Listed below are some areas around Jupiter Hall that are at little or no cost.
On-Street Parking
On-street parking typically is either $0.75 or $0.50 an hour. Be aware that some on-street parking meters have a two-hour limit. Read meters for specific details and applicable hours.
Citizen’s Bank Parking Garage
New rates: 0-2 hours $6 ** 2-4 hours $7 ** 4-10 hours $11 ** 10-12 hours $12 ** 12 hours + $22
Victory Parking Garage
The Victory Parking Garage is city-owned. Parking meters (pay by space) will be installed May, 2017. Procedure for parking: 1.) Find available space/remember your space number, 2.)Walk to street level corner stairwell or front of office location and find pay by space meter, 3.)Follow instructions on meter (coins and credit only no dollar bills) .75 hour / max of $6.00. 4.) Must pay before leaving garage.
There is free parking on Saturday and Sunday.
Hartnett Parking Lot
The Hartnett Parking Lot is a city-owned lot. The rate is $0.50 per hour Monday thru Friday until 5:30PM. The metered parking is located around the perimeter of the lot. Parking is free after 5:30PM on weekdays and weekends. Only at that time you may park anywhere in the parking lot.
– What can I bring into the event?
You may bring a laptop or mobile device to take notes and follow along. Food and becverages are allowed. There are several fine restaurants within the area.

You may request a refund seven (7) days prior to our workshop. Otherwise refunds will not be issued.
